There are many potential hazards in a warehouse:

✔ Slips, trips, and falls

✔ Head or feet struck by falling object

✔ Back injuries from moving heavy objects

✔ Chemical or fire hazards from improperly stored materials

✔ Mechanical equipment—forklifts, cranes, conveyors

✔ Falling from ladders

✔ Injuries from sharp objects of all kinds

But you can protect yourself from warehouse accidents and injuries:

❏ Always practice good housekeeping.

❏ Watch where you’re going and always walk—don’t run.

❏ Practice safe lifting and carrying techniques.

❏ Use materials handling equipment as you’ve been trained to do.

❏ Stack and store materials carefully.

❏ Take care when packing and unpacking materials.

❏ Be especially careful around forklifts, cranes, and conveyors.

❏ Practice good ladder safety.

❏ Be extra careful around the loading dock.

❏ Always wear PPE as assigned—or whenever you believe you need protection.

❏ Keep alert for safety hazards.

❏ Use common sense!
