Protect Against Poisoning...

  • Don't trust "child-proof" tops.

  • Keep all drugs clearly marked.

  • Read the warning labels.

  • Throw out old prescriptions.

  • Don't take a higher dose of a prescription drug than is called for.

  • Don't mix alcohol and drugs.

  • Make sure gas stoves are operating properly.

  • Check automobile exhaust systems regularly for leaks.

  • Keep the Poison Control Number posted near the phone.

  • Beware of the hazards of common household products like:

bleach

paint thinner

oven cleaner

pesticides

gasoline

ammonia

laundry detergent

dishwashing soap

paint

furniture polish

Keep them tightly sealed in original containers and safely locked away from children. Dispose of old and unused products safely at a household hazardous waste collection center.
