For Stairway Safety...
Make sure carpet is firmly attached to steps.
Replace worn treads or carpeting.
Use nonskid paint on outside wooden steps.
Install light switches at top and bottom of stairs.
Install proper length handrails on both sides of stairway.
Keep objects off stairs.
In the Bathroom...
Use bathmats, or put textured, nonskid appliques on tub and shower floors.
Install nonskid carpet to floor.
Attach GRAB BARS to hold onto. Make sure they are attached securely to structural supports.
Don't use the edge of the tub as a step when getting in or out.
